OBJECTIVE OF EXHIBITION
Teatro De Artes De Juan Seguin is looking to bring together visual traditions of the Dia De Los Muertos that celebrates the memories of family, friends and other public figures. This digital online exhibition is presented in conjunction with the Calaveras y Poesía: Celebrando Día de Los Muertos, a virtual Zoom event, on Sunday, November 1, 2020 2PM and is a new edition to the event. This visual art edition is in response to the pandemic and ensuring artist of all ages are able to participate in a safe environment.
Teatro is seeking digital images of Día De Los Muertos themed art work to be presented through an online exhibition. This state call for Día De Los Muertos themed art work is for digital images only of with sculpture or 2d art. The digital image will represent the art work in the exhibition and works will not be on display on-site. With that being said, works should be nicely photographed and presented in a professional manner either cropped for 2d works or with a consistent background of sculpture pieces. Along with photos we are asking the artist to answer the following questions in 2 to 3 sentences:

Through the lens of the creative person, share your thoughts and feelings about celebrating Día De Los Muertos.

IMAGES GUIDELINES
Teatro will only accept digital images for consideration. You can email them or mail them on a CD/flash drive along with the filling out of the Online Registration Form. Please use a PC readable format. Teatro will retain the submitted images of accepted artwork and reserves the right to use the selected images in publications, Teatro publicity, and an online exhibition presentation.
Please format images according to the following specifications:

All digital images must be formatted as JPEGs (high quality – 300dpi or greater) with resolution no less than 72 dpi and no smaller than 1000 pixels in any direction.

Images should be labeled with artist’s Last Name, First Initial, Entry # (which will be emailed to you upon receiving your registration form)

Any alternate views of detail images should be labeled ‘detail’ as well.

If mailing a CD/Flash Drive, it should be labeled with the artist’s full name and the show title in permanent ink.

ELIGIBILITY
Teatro's Online Exhibition of Día De Los Muertos Themed Art Work is open to Texas Artists Experienced, Emerging and New and age requirement is 15+. All work must be original and should be nicely photographed and presented in a professional manner either cropped or with a constant background. The digital image will represent that art work in the exhibition and works will not be on display on-site. Teatro is a non-profit organization that provides many different classes and education opportunities to young students and adults. Work that contains overtly sexual, violent, or drug related content will not be accepted. Works will be presented in digital format only and will not be available for purchase. Any work not adhering to guidelines may be disqualified and Teatro will not be responsible for contacting participants with disqualified entries.

Sunday, November 1, 2020 2PM CST - Formal virtual La Galleria Exhibition Opening will be held during the Calaveras y Poesía: Celebrando Día de Los Muertos virtual event on Sunday, November 1, 2020 2PM - 3PM via Zoom.
