Maria G. Betancourt, Vickie De La Rosa†, and Homer De La Rosa

ABOUT THE CO-FOUNDERS
Maria G. Betancourt, is a retired educator who served the Seguin ISD for 30 years, Crystal City ISD for 5 years and San Marcos ISD 1 year. She holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Southwest Texas State University with a major in Spanish and minor in French and a Masters of Arts degree in Bilingual/Bicultural Studies from the University of Texas in San Antonio. She holds teaching certifications in Secondary Spanish, Secondary French, Bilingual/ESL (Grades 1-12), and elementary self-contained.

Why did you co-found Teatro De Artes De Juan Seguin?
"My pride in who I am, having been born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and my desire to share my Mexican Roots with the world motivated me to become a co-founder."

Vickie De La Rosa, was a retired educator and administrator. Mrs. De La Rosa served in Seguin ISD for 37 years. She held a Bachelors of Science in Math and Physics, Masters of Science in Math and Physics (Southwest Texas State University) Bachelors of Arts in Computer Science (Texas Lutheran College) and a Masters of Arts in Computer Science (Southwest Texas State University). She held teaching certifications in Secondary Mathematics and Physics, a Mid-Management Administrator certification and Superintendent certification.

Why did you co-found Teatro De Artes De Juan Seguin?

Homer De La Rosa, is a retired accountant from West Point Pepperell Corporation. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration (Southwest Texas State University) with a concentration in accounting. He has volunteered and donated thousands and thousands of hours of service to the organization as the board treasurer, through building maintenance, groundskeeping and much more.

Why did you co-found Teatro De Artes De Juan Seguin?
"To be of service to this community, to be involved with my children who went through the programming of Teatro, to be an integral part of shaping the youth of this community and lastly to make my wife's dream a reality."
